Staigdin Chronicles - August 2025

4th of August 2025

I haven't done anything really sice last update, except for daydreaming about it. So I had to take a long look at what makes me so avoidant to work on this despite really really wanting to and having so many ideas for it. I think what I'm dreading the most is getting to the deawing phase because I'm not the best at drawing people. More specifically, the people I draw are stiff. I'm bad at capturing gesture. So in an atempt to fix that this month I'm challeging myself to do 20 minutes a day of gesture practice using Quickposes. To keep myself accountable I will post all my progress once a week in a dedicated post. (will upload and link it on the 10th)

11th of August 2025

I stayed up late last night developing the Staigi alphabet. It's not set in stone yet, I still have a bunch of simplifying to do and I don't like how all characers work together. One aspect I do plan to stick to is the fact that the wovels have a character that if accompanied by a dot read as a full syllable (name of the coresponding god). Also there are two versions for I and E with the rule being that one of them is always the first I or E in the word and the following ones are written with the second one.

This is what I have at the moment. I expect it's gonna change a lot over the developement of this world.

 

 

 

 

 I also worked a bit on ideas of how some of the gods are represented in iconography. Enjoy the weird mishmash page. Most of the things on this page is not Staigdin related, there's some quilting patterns and some designs from another project too. I'm not gonna tell you which is which.
